The story behind WardNav
WardNav started from a real hospital experience, a repeated problem, and a simple belief that getting around a hospital should be easier.

Meet Callum Hamlin
On 08/03/2021, my life changed.
My son was born at 24 weeks and spent time in NICU.
During that journey, I spent a lot of time inside the hospital.
And I started noticing something — not just as a parent, but from a different perspective.
I saw how often hospital staff were stopped with the same question: “Where is this ward?”
It did not matter if they were walking somewhere important or even on a break. They would still be stopped to give directions.
At the time, I did not think much of it.
But looking back, it made me realise something important.
Hospitals are incredible places, but navigating them is not always easy for patients and visitors.
And that small problem happens over and over again, every single day.
That is what led me to start building WardNav.
A simple idea
Helping people find their way around hospitals without needing to stop staff.
So that:
- patients and visitors feel less stressed
- people can get where they need to go faster
- staff can focus on their roles without constant interruption
WardNav is still early in development, but it is something I am genuinely passionate about building.
Because sometimes the biggest improvements come from solving the smallest, most overlooked problems.
This is where the idea for WardNav started.
